I was really thrilled to hear from Sophie about her wedding to Todd, back in early 2011. Sophie was a friend of one of my 2010 brides, and she had also gone to the same high school as me – that, and her Dad had been my English teacher!

Sophie and Todd had a massive year in the lead-up to their wedding – new jobs, new house in amongst all that planning – so I didn’t get a chance to meet Todd until the day. I had a fabulous time with Sophie and some familiar faces, and really enjoyed getting to know Todd, the boys (and Jon Bon Jovi!) Todd is an extremely talented singer and guitarist (we were lucky enough to get a demo at the boys’ house!) and Sophie herself is a singer, surprising Todd with the song ‘Penguin’ by Christina Perri, dedicated to him at the reception!

It was a beautiful, warm summer’s day in the Barossa, and it couldn’t have been a more gorgeous celebration for two lovely people.

It was a delight getting to know Estha and Dean, a wonderful pair whose wedding I photographed in January. They are such a fun couple, full of laughter and fun and joy. They have amazing chemistry and an equally amazing group of family and friends around them. They’ve travelled and lived in so many different places (Estha herself is originally from the UK, via the US and now, more permanently in Australia!) and they have one of the best (funniest, yet lovely) engagement stories ever; a comedy of errors set against the red dust and dirt of a motorcycle ride in the deserts of Las Vegas, featuring a very tired and cranky Estha and a ready-to-propose-any-second Dean!

The wedding was incredibly fun, and I’m so happy to have been the photographer and to have had the opportunity to meet Estha and Dean. To E & D – congratulations on your incredible celebration! x

The skies were a photographer’s delight (soft clouds and overcast) and even with the sudden burst (or should I say, monsoon?) of rain later in the day, it was the perfect day. Much fun and laughter and happiness. Good food (wood oven pizza) inside while the summer rain is pouring outside – now how lovely a picture is that? Madeleine and Kamen weren’t fazed at all by the rain, which epitomises the whole vibe of the day.

A special thank you to the camera-shy (really?) Kamen and Madeleine for having me along – it was a pleasure to photograph your day and to get to know you both! All the best for the very exciting times ahead of you… x

It was my first wedding at St Peters Cathedral, an Adelaide wedding icon. It was especially personal, because Katie and Stuart were once vergers there (they now live overseas) and the minister was Katie’s maths teacher at high school! This made it extra personal. On the topic of having photographed in the Cathedral, I would like to thank Amy, my wonderful assistant and Deb Saunders, a lovely photographer friend, for being my trusty second and third shooters! (I had considered cloning myself to be up on the balcony…but unfortunately it wasn’t to be!)

The day was full of fun and joy and all the beautiful things that create a truly special wedding. I had the warm fuzzies all day and would like to send a big thank you to Katie and Stuart – I’m so happy to have been chosen to photograph your wedding, and I hope you enjoy your photos as much as I enjoyed capturing them!

We started with Katie getting ready in North Adelaide (with a morning wedding ceremony happening in the courtyard, too!) Everyone was abuzz with excitement…

It was a very, very hot day – the kind of heat where the trees are drooping in the sun – but by the time we got to Glen Ewin, we were greeted by a lovely breeze that guided us through the afternoon. As you’ll see, it was a wonderful day and I can’t thank Sally and Thom enough for allowing me to capture it for them!

I first met Marissa and Aaron back in June 2010. By the time their December 2011 wedding rolled around, it definitely seemed like more than 18 months! I was really looking forward to their day. Marissa and Aaron are absolutely gorgeous, inside and out. I loved getting to know them and watching them together. The happiness was written all over their faces, and of course all over the faces of their family and friends. Especially their parents, who were so proud they looked like they might burst!

It was definitely an emotional day – full of joy and celebration, and some tears (mine included!) The speeches were especially moving, as Aaron’s late father was very sadly not a part of the day; I really doubt there was a dry eye anywhere in the marquee, and I had tears pouring down my cheeks. (It still chokes me up just remembering!) But then next moment the marquee was full of laughter again, at one of Aaron’s jokes – and that was the amazing vibe of the day. So much heartfelt emotion and so much happy (occasionally silly!) joy, that it was a whirlwind of lovely-ness.

I’d like to thank Marissa and Aaron’s respective families, and their bridal party, for welcoming me and creating such a memorable day. But I would especially like to thank Marissa and Aaron for inviting me in, for placing their faith in me and for allowing me to witness this moment in their lives. Thank you and congratulations!

Their flowers were just a little bit gorgeous!
