I’ve always loved photography, and have always loved the idea of being a wedding photographer, but it wasn’t until I deferred a teaching degree at university and began planning for my own wedding that I realised, in one of those momentous lightning-bolt strikes of epiphany, that wedding photography was my calling, that it was absolutely and beyond a shadow of a doubt what I had to be doing with my life!
Not long before I embarked on the adventure of being a wedding photographer, I spent three months travelling around Europe and the UK. Back then, I wasn’t using very sophisticated equipment, but found myself more often than not experiencing travel life through the lens!
I’ll leave you with perhaps my favourite photo from my travels. Salzburg (in Austria) is the home of my all-time favourite movie, The Sound of Music .Naturally, while touring the Alpine areas of Austria, Switzerland and Germany, I couldn’t miss a pilgrimage to this beautiful city. Below is a photograph of the spires of the city, taken from a stone balcony near Nonnberg Abbey (which was the convent featured in the film). It was fairly exciting, to say the least!
