Right now I’m editing the second of three weddings I’ve photographed over the last two weeks (N.B. I know I’ve been a bit quiet on the blogging front – but I promise you that there will be not just one, but three gorgeous weddings to see here very, very soon!)
Looking at all the intricate, intimate, special moments again, during the editing process, makes me smile. Something I’ve discovered over the course of my time as a wedding photographer, is that it’s not just the big sweeping gesture of a kiss at the finale of a wedding ceremony that makes me grin like an idiot.
My favourite bit is the hug.
The bride and groom share their first kiss as husband and wife…then they hug. It’s that moment, where the connection between them becomes electrifying and culminates every minute they’ve spent planning for and dreaming about their wedding day. Now they’re here…they’re married…they’re together…forever…and the hug is so intense, so lovely that it just wraps all of that emotion into one amazing moment.
That’s my favourite part.
